49st Embed Calendar Feature
Wed, 11/19/2008 - 13:36 — JeffWe’ve recently released a new feature that allows users to quickly and easily embed any venue’s calendar on to their websites or blog for free.
It’s really easy to do. Just click on the ‘Embed Calendar’ tab above any venue’s calendar, copy the generated code and paste it into your site code.
So far, you’ll have the ability to customize the calendar width and height and soon you’ll be able to customize the colour and other details.

New Calendar View for Venues
Mon, 11/03/2008 - 12:20 — JeffHey everyone, we’ve updated the calendar view on all our venue microsites. Instead of just seeing '1 event' for a day, you can now see the actual event titles. Also, when you click on the title, you get a preview window for the event.
This is just the first release in a number of updates that are currently in development for the calendars. We’ll soon have additional functionality such as the ability to embed calendars on your own websites or blogs.
Stay Tuned!

49st API
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 15:47 — JeffOver the last little while, we’ve been busy developing a number of new products to take 49st to the next level of usability.
Our latest release is a beta API that provides access to our large database of event and venue content, as well as the ability to add content to it. The 49st API is ideal for blogs, portals, newspaper publishers, radio stations or any sites seeking local event and venue content.
The API is easy to use, just request an ‘application key’ then get started. You can have our events and venues on your site with just a few lines of code!

Summer/Fall Concerts
Mon, 08/18/2008 - 14:47 — JeffHey Everyone,
It’s hard to believe that we’re already mid-way through August…where has this summer gone?
I realized that I haven’t had a chance to see too many concerts this summer so I checked my Watchlist to see what was happening at some of my favourite spots.
Here are the top 10 concerts I'm excited about:
Aug 21 - The Opera House
The Faint
Sep 3 - The Phoenix Concert Theatre
Underoath
Sep 6-7 - Toronto Island

49st Site Updates
Mon, 07/14/2008 - 15:46 — JeffHey everyone,
Just wanted to share a couple updates we made to 49st...
First, you might have noticed that we now have a ‘Restaurants’ tab! It’s pretty simple so far, just a link to the restaurants that are currently listed as venues. This is just the first step – we’ll soon have a submission page solely for restaurants, but for the time being, restaurants can be added as venues – just make sure you tag them as ‘restaurants’ so they will display under the restaurants tab.

Upcoming Summer Concerts In Your City
Wed, 07/02/2008 - 11:39 — Dave McKennaAll the rock stars and pop idols are crawling out of their caves now that the warm weather is here, which means that the big acts will be bringing their North American concert tours to your city sometime soon.
One of the biggest concert tours to watch out for is Coldplay's Viva La Vida tour. These guys are hitting all the major cities. I'm actually going to be in Boston when they get there so I might check them out.

New Look, Better Experience
Mon, 06/16/2008 - 11:03 — Dave McKennaIf you've been to the site lately you've probably noticed the new site design and homepage layout. We've added a few things, moved a few things around, and generally made the interface more intuitive and easy to use.
You'll also notice that the site is much faster, our search speed and results have been improved, and we're listing more events, venues, and bands than ever before. The content is really starting to pour in now. Thanks to all of you who've been inputting your events, venues and bands! You really help make our listings great.

More to come in the weeks ahead...

Changes on 49st
Thu, 05/22/2008 - 10:13 — Dave McKennaOver the last month we at 49st have been busy upgrading our system and adding some new features to the site. We’ve just finished off the last of our back-end bug fixes and are ready to start adding some awesome functionality for you guys.
We’ve recently expanded our platform to include the U.S., so we can now provide listings to all of North America – this is brand new, so the listings are a little empty, only for now though. All the more reason for our U.S. friends to start posting!
